Nepal Factory

Ethics at Work

Helping to Promote a Legacy of Tradition and Innovation

In the heart of Nepal lies a beacon of sustainability, creativity, and ethical commerce. It is also, we say with some pride, the place our products are produced.

Merinoze went to great lengths to find a trusted partner factory that is not only renowned for its quality but also for its commitment to preserving traditional crafts and transforming local communities.

Since 2002 they have been on a mission to meld tradition with modernity, crafting timeless, eco-friendly felt products that are testament to the rich craftsmanship of Nepal.

Crafting Opportunities and Transforming Communities

The factory is located in the indigenous village of Megoli, in the Chitwan district, where opportunities for employment and education were, for many year, sparse.

The factory founders held strong beliefs that truly honor traditional crafts as well as  the craftsmen. The vision quickly became clear on how to create jobs and improve the lifestyle of the community.

They have since opened  well-equipped factories in Chitwan and Kathmandu, creating space for over a thousand craftsmen. They actively employ over 350 locals from Megoli, with a focus on empowering women. No matter the skill level - beginner or veteran, able-bodied or differently-abled, the focus is on training every individual to meet our quality standards. This surge in job creation has diminished previously dominant foraging practices, gradually modernizing the area and uplifting the community.

Our employee's well-being is paramount and every measure is taken to ensure the work place is a safe, healthy and encouraging environment.  Happy staff are the key to producing consistently high quality products, so everyone wins.

Just to add a little icing to the cake, our factory helps many in the wider community who would not have the opportunity otherwise.
